Jon Ruiz, Coach & Trainer
Jonathan Ruiz’s soccer journey began in Lancaster County where he played for Lititz Youth Soccer, FC Millennium, and Lancaster Select. He had both Scottish and English coaches at FC Millennium with connections to the Ajax Youth Academy. This made a significant impact on his understanding of the game. At age 15, he received an invitation to play overseas. Jonathan was a varsity starter all four years at Warwick High School and earned All-League honors for two of those years. He went on to play all four years at Eastern University where they won the conference twice and were ranked as high as 8th in the nation.
Jonathan coached right out of college in the school district of Philadelphia for three years where he took the Fels High School boys varsity soccer team to their first district final in any sport in the history of the school. He took a short time off when he moved to the Lehigh Valley and coached for Salisbury Youth Soccer. He coached Bethlehem Soccer Club 2011 Blue and Black teams from 2020-2023. He spent time as an assistant for the UPSL Semi-Pro team PA Prime in 2023 and last year coached HEX FC ECRL and ECNL 2011 Boys. He currently is working with the 2010 ENCL and 2013 pre-ECNL HEX teams.
Jonathan has a master’s degree in Differentiated Instruction and Brain Science and has been a high school math teacher for 18 years. He uses his knowledge of adolescent development and teaching, to show players the value of mental, physical, and lifelong skills through the beautiful game, ensuring that they not only excel on the field but also thrive in all aspects of their lives.
